Daniel Hartlauer, LMSW, is the group facilitator. Daniel has over two years of counseling and group experience. He is part of our counseling team at Healing Life Counseling and sees children, teenagers and adults with varies issues such as anxiety, depression, self-harming, self-esteem issues, communication and relationship problems.
Daniel is supervised by Allison Spencer, LCSW, owner of Healing Life Counseling. Allison facilitated the Banner Hospital IOP group for teens coming out of inpatient hospitalization. The curriculum and activities that are used in this group is the same curriculum that Banner Hospital uses for their IOP group.
This group is a way for teens and adults to come together and process current or past situations that lead to negative thoughts, feelings and behaviors. They will learn healthy ways to cope with stress, anxiety, depression and current life situations. This group is best for those who are having problems with poor self-esteem, feeling isolated, suicidal ideation, anxiety, depression, self-harming, anger, making or keeping friendships, conflict with parents, friends, spouse, children, trouble communicating with others and school or work problems. The group is LGBTQIA+ allied.
We use a variety of interactive methods to teach these skills, such as:
Therapeutic Games and Activities
Expressive Arts- painting, drawing, making crisis boxes
Processing/Sharing
Check-ins
Each group is limited to a total of 8 members at one time. There is no ongoing commitment to keep attending group. We encourage you to give it a try!
